Ajith sir
mastered the nunchaku in a short time: Serge Crozon-Cazin
Ajith's
upcoming film with an international background boasts several action sequnces
and foreign artistes. We caught up with Serge Crozon-Cazin, who plays one of
the five members of Ajith's team in Vivegam. He is known for his stunt work in
films like Casino Royale, 300: Rise of an Empire and The Transporter Refueled.
The Afrcian-born stuntman opens up on how he got the role, working with Ajith
and Vivek Oberoi, stunts in the film, and more. Excerpts:
How did you
get to work in the film, and tell us about your role?
I responded
to a casting call for a stuntman in Bulgaria. Only after I had an interview
with director Siva, I got the role. After viewing several of my videos and
photos, he gave me a more important role than I had imagined I'd get. My role
is that of Mike, an IT specialist. I am part of an anti-terrorist group of five
agents and play a friend of Ajith, Vivek, Aarav
and Amila.
How was it
working with Ajith?
Working with
Ajith sir was a very pleasant, very professional and rewarding experience. I
really appreciated the man outside of work and I had a lot of exchanges with
him.
Any
qualities of his that stood out?
As I said, I
really appreciated the man. From our first contact itself, I felt that he is a
very simple, humble and kind person. He immediately welcomed me. Outside the
set, we talked a lot about our common values and passions, family, sports and
action levels. And professionally speaking, he is a perfectionist and always
demands more of himself. He is a great and complete actor who does all the
action scenes by himself. Only when I returned home after completing the shoot
of the film that I discovered his celebrity status and the chance I had working
with such a personality. Because of his simplicity and humility, I was far from
imagining his impact on Indian cinema.
You said
Vivek Oberoi is part of the team of five. How was it working with him?
I had a lot
of scenes with Vivek sir. Although I enjoyed working with him as much as Ajith
sir, it was a completely different experience. I had a lot of action scenes
with Ajith, while with Vivek, it was more of acting scenes. We talked a lot
about the world. He was keen to know more about me and would ask me many
questions about my (African) origin and that of my wife (Indian) and our French
culture and life. He's a clever and curious person.
